On September 19th, we march. From Garfield High School to the King County Courthouse, we walk together to declare that the Constitution belongs to all of us! The Constitution promised rights to all. It hasn't delivered for all. That's why we march!

In reference to Constitution Day (September 17th), the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, New Beginnings Fellowship Church, The Washington NAACP and coalition partners across King County are coming together for a march grounded in history and pointed toward the future. 

We march because our rights are not guaranteed, they are exercised. We march because our vote is our voice, and our voice shapes who holds power over our schools, our neighborhoods, our safety, and our future. We march because freedom requires participation, not just belief.

This is more than a demonstration. It is the launch of a movement, The Power Is Ours, a commitment to bring our communities to the polls this November and to stay engaged long after Election Day ends.

What to expect:

• Assembly at Garfield High School
• A short program with community leaders and faith partners before we step off
• A peaceful march from Garfield High School to the King County Courthouse
• Opportunities to pledge to vote, register to vote and connect with coalition partner organizations along the way

Who should come: Everyone. Bring your family, your church, your block, your coworkers. This march is for every person who believes our community deserves a real say in the decisions that shape our lives.
